OKOTO DANCE COMPANY NIGERIA

Okoto Dance Company , founded in April 6th 1994 then as Fega Dance Company. The name of the famours dance company was changed in April 11th 2000 during the yearly festival and anniversary of the company.
This multi-cultural troupe well known for projecting the rich cultural value of Nigeria and some neighbour countries of West Africa.

Rhythm and dance has been instrumental in communication and artistic expression throughout the ages and all over the world. It is through this expression that the histories, cultures, and philosophies of societies are preserved.

Okoto Dance Company has dedicated itself to preserving , teaching and promoting the cultures of Nigeria and other African countries through music and dance. During performances, the group do various dances from Nigeria and some neighbour countries

Other acts include Modern/ Contemporary Dance as well as Traditional Songs, Folklore and Masqurades.
The Troupe as toured Benin Republic, Ghana, Democractic Republic of Congo.
The group is a member of associations like Association of Nigeria Theartre Practitionals, and Dance Guild of Nigeria

A. To present, promote and propagate the rich cultural values of the poeple of Nigeria and Africa at large.

B. To assist in development of talents and creative intellect among Youth andArtistes

C. To attain high artistic productions for both National and International Tours.

D. To ensure that its productions promote the African creative consciousness.
